The selection was based on how many people have sought out information about Schrock Innovations on Google. That information includes reviews, requests for driving directions, and general search data.

Contained within the letter was a window decal for our Service Center as well as some statistics about how local Lincoln, Nebraska Google users were seeking out Schrock Innovations over the past 6 months:

• An average of 14 people a month request driving directions to Schrock Innovations (pretty nice considering we are on one of the busiest intersections in Lincoln)
• There were 942 requests for specific information about Schrock Innovations (coupons, reviews, etc.)
• The majority of users who look into Schrock Innovations are looking for computer repair services

Gooogle Favorite Places is a sub component of Google Local Business Center. I was unaware of this program until Google contacted us to let us know we had been selected.

If your business has not been selected, you can apply for consideration by signing up for and completing an entry in Google Local Business Center.

Each year students and businesses across Lincoln pledge to commit themselves to recycle more in the coming year. Each pledge is placed in a box and a drawing is conducted.

As we have done in the past, we donated a computer system to this year’s pledge winner. Here is the text from the letter we received from Gene Hanlon, Lancaster County’s Recycling Coordinator:

Dear Thor:

I’m writing to express our sincere appreciation to you for your support of America Recycles Day and donating one of your computers for our Community Grand Prize Drawing. Your donation of the computer provided a valuable incentive for people to take the time to complete a pledge to increase their recycling efforts or buy recycled products.

This year we received over 1,900 pledges from Lincoln and Lancaster County residents to step up their recycling efforts. I don’t believe this would have been possible without your support. I hope you found your involvement in the America Recycles Day campaign beneficial.

Best wishes to you and your family during this holiday season. I hope that the New Year brings much happiness to you and your family.

This time of year we usually pack on a few pounds with all of the goodies our customers drop by.

But this is the first gift we are going to have to frame!

With “Schrock Desk” John and especially Eric, I have been able to keep my problems to a minimum and always have them solved promptly. Eric has been a life line to keeping me running and his quality attitude toward customer service is noteworthy.

I hope the art print “Computer Bugs” by Randall Spangler will be enjoyed by the entire staff and will give them reason to smile. Regrettably I was not able to deliver the print to your hands as I had originally intended. A family health issue became an intervening priority.

On this program Thor popped the top on a 16 ounce Redbull and went to work.

Thor spent some time today talking about the need for good antivirus software (not AVG). In fact, if you don’t have good anti-virus software your PC can actually catch H1N1!

The guys also took a number of calls during the show and covered a variety of topics. Some of the questions included:

• Can upgrading Adobe Flash Player give your computer a virus?
• Can your iPhone get hacked wirelessly?
• What can I do to install a Windows Update that won’t install?

Throughout the show, Thor took calls and broke away to live interviews with customers who were attending the Holiday Special / Windows 7 launch party.

Big Dog Wraps & Graphics

More importantly, Big Dog wanted a site that would stand out from the competition and show off their products.  After some preliminary design meetings, Schrock presented a proposal that featured dynamic image rollovers inside a Goth/Skater styling using a dark gray & burgundy color layout.

Our Designers worked closely with Jana of Big Dog Wraps & Graphics to create the style and coloring scheme they were looking for.

To improve the site’s scalability, we created a flexible CSS design to work with the multiple page layouts. A main menu was created alone with a side menu to showcase products, make navigation easy and help customers she how easy it is to have unique graphics printed and applied to their vehicles.

Once the styling was done we designed and coded their online shopping cart. The shopping cart was designed to make purchases simple for the customers and to be easily implemented on the back-end.

ShowTek Events

Rob from ShowTek reached out to Schrock Innovations to build a site that would maximize its SEO benefits, and plays a song of the day.  Rob wanted multiple video & images, simple navigation, vibrant colors, while at the same time have the website run completely from his own server in an easily updateable framework.

Brad went over each specific detail Rob wanted and then create a site design that would house the ShowTek Events vision of the new site. He created a unique design using a one button menu bar. Combining this with a BACK and HOME button, the site is very simple to navigate and makes it easy to find each product.

The desire to avoid third-party services and the ability to have a song of the day was solved by Schrock building a custom Flash player for their content. The Flash player also allowed the vision for a video gallery to play on the same page when you click a thumbnail.

To keep the updating easy, we built his site was built using PHP, CSS and JavaScript. Upon completion Brad met with Rob for a brief introduction on how to update the website and manage its content.

Now ShowTek Events has a site fitting their vision which is simple to navigate and update

Christine Campbell DDS

She knew what colors she wanted and some site styles she like but needed help to make her vision a reality. She contacted Schrock Innovations to bridge the divide.

Schrock worked with her step by step to turn her ideas into a design she liked. Once the design was created the Schrock Innovations team went to work creating a flash intro page that matched her design. Brad then worked with Christine’s office personal to assist them with the creation of the page content.

Their unique content helped the website stand out amongst its competitors in search engine rankings.

Christine now has a site that is expandable and ready to change with the needs of her patents and practice.

The church wanted to take the style they had, add a dynamic menu, include spaces for ads and videos, and contain it all within a style sheet so all the text would have continuity.

We created a style sheet to match their existing design and then coded a JavaScript drop down menu to simplify navigation.

With the new CSS and the use of a few PHP includes we were able to create a dynamic side bar that allowed the easy addition and modification of ads and videos.

Cathedral of the Risen Christ Church now has a site appears to be the same but now has the ability to be easily managed and the can grow with the church.
