Completely
Remove Popcorn.net Download Manager Software From Your Computer... continued
Remove Popcorn.net Step 5. Now that all of the applications have
been removed using Add/Remove Programs, you will need to manually clean
up the bits of Popcorn.net and their Download Manager that have been left
behind. This is important to prevent reinfection with Popcorn.net and/or
Download Manager! To do this, open My Computer, and then double click
on your C drive. Then double click on the "Program Files" folder.
If you get a "These files are hidden" message, click on the
link to view the files.
We have found that this process is easiest if your Program
Files folder is organized in "list" view. To do this, left click on
the "View" option at the top of the window, and then left click on "List."
Now you should see an alphabetized list of every program folder that is installed
on your computer. We have compiled a list of all known Popcorn.net folders below.
Compare the list of Popcorn.net components below against the list of programs in
your Program Files folder. Right click on any folders that match and left click
on the word delete.
*note* A new variant of this software may have
been released. This list of files and folder was updated in August, so it
should be the latest.

*note*
As you attempt to remove these Popcorn.net and Download Manager folders, some of them may
be in use. Because of this, the folder removals may fail. If any attempted Popcorn.net
folder removal fails, press the "Ctrl-Alt-Del" key combination on your
keyboard and click on the processes tab. This is a list of every running process
on your computer. The name for the running process should be similar to the name
of the program removal that failed. For example, if the removal of the "ITBill"
folder failed, you might see a running process with the word "ITBill"
in it. Left click on any such processes, and then left click on the "End
Process" button. Once the process has been ended, attempt to delete the program's
folder again. If there are too many processes for you to figure out which is which,
start by closing any open programs and programs represented by icons by your clock
(the system tray). To close items in the system tray, you can typically right
click on their icon and left click on an option to close or exit.
You
are almost done! There is only one step of the removal process left before you
are rid of Popcorn.net and Download Manager forever! You have removed the majority of the
Popcorn.net infection from your computer, but now you must protest yourself against
the software coming back on your system the same way it did before.
